BIG THANKS TO...
All the stewards for all their hard work
The steam engine sponsors
and to you, the public, for attending!
The Show with Something for Everyone!
The main attraction this year will be The Big Sheep Show including more dancing sheep, sheep shearing and lots of information about theses breeds. Also, there will be sheep racing... take your bets and see who wins!
In the little farm area will be chickens, cattle, pigs, donkeys and goats.
A new attraction this year will be AFC Fylde football club. They will be holding penalty shoot-outs each day (for a small charge, with money raised going to the Macmillan nurses). They are also having a club shop.
We also have a Dog Display Team attending on both days and even more entertainment including a small fairground and a craft and food marquee.
Again there will be a large selection of vintage vehicles including tractors, classic cars, Jeeps, Land Rovers, lorries, motor bikes, pedal bikes - altogether well over 500 exhibits! Parades of vehicles in the show ring each day.
Isaac Ball Threshing and Road Rolling Contractors used to operate from a yard just a mile away from the show field - they then had 40 steam engines. We are trying to get as many of the engines as possible to come to the show. One to be put on the Ransomes thresher and one on the powell stand baler from 1943. Lots of other vintage machines including Bill Allans piking Machine from Cumbria.
A big thank you to all who have sponsored a steam engine. We are now expecting 10-15 steam engines to attend this year - it will make a great spectacle!
Daytime entertainment will include Punch and Judy, The Skippickers Trio and the Wigan Ukelele Band.
There will be free entertainment in the Beer Tent on the Friday and Saturday nights, including singers and comedian.
BBC Radio Lancashire is attending on Sunday 25th June with Steven Lowe.
Dogs are allowed provided they are on leads and you have your doggy bags please, as young children on the show ground do not look where they are walking.
As usual, ample free parking is available.
